Jones Praises Johnson, Williams, and McGovern for Progress in 2023
Dallas Cowboys Executive Vice President Stephen Jones expressed confidence in the progress made by three young offensive linemen during the 2023 season - Tyler Smith, Connor McGovern, and Matt Farniok.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Jones highlighted the improvement he has witnessed from each player and their potential to contribute to the team's success in the future.
Jones specifically praised Smith's development at left tackle, stating, "He's a guy that's worked extremely hard, and he's put in the time. He's got all the tools in the world.
Regarding McGovern, who has been a versatile member of the offensive line, Jones said, "We've seen him play so many different positions, so he's a guy that's got a lot of experience. He's a smart player."
Jones also mentioned Farniok's contributions as a reserve offensive lineman, saying, "Matt's come in and done some really good things for us. He's a tough kid, and he's got a lot of upside."
The Cowboys' offensive line has been a focus of attention in recent years, and Jones' comments indicate that the team is investing in the development of young talent to anchor the unit.
