Delete that Clipboard History on Windows 10
Erase Your Copy & Paste Tracks, Four Ways
New Feature, Old Problem
Microsoft's Windows 10 operating system has a new feature called the Clipboard history, which stores the 25 most recent items you've copied, including text, HTML, and images. This can be a handy feature, but it can also be a privacy concern, as it means that anyone who has access to your computer can see what you've been copying and pasting.
If you're concerned about the privacy implications of the Clipboard history, you can disable it or clear it out. Here are four easy ways to clear the Clipboard history on Windows 10:
- Use the Clipboard Task Pane
Press Windows key + V to open the Clipboard task. Click the Clear All button to delete all the items in the Clipboard history.
- Use the Settings App
Open the Settings app and go to System > Clipboard. Under the Clipboard history section, click the Clear button to delete all the items in the Clipboard history.
- Use the Command Prompt
Open the Command Prompt and type the following command: echo off | clip. This will clear the Clipboard history.
- Use a Third-Party App
There are a number of third-party apps that can help you clear the Clipboard history. One popular app is Clipboard History Manager.
