Early Life and Career
Benjamin Solomon Carson Sr. was born on September 18, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan. Despite facing significant challenges, including poverty and his mother's illiteracy, Carson excelled in his studies.
He pursued a medical degree at the University of Michigan and later specialized in neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University. Carson gained recognition for his groundbreaking surgical techniques and became one of the most renowned neurosurgeons in the United States.
Political Career
In 2015, Carson entered the Republican presidential race. Although he ultimately withdrew, he gained a significant following among conservative voters.
In 2017, President Donald Trump appointed Carson as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). During his tenure, Carson focused on addressing homelessness and increasing affordable housing.
