Oilers Beat Penguins 6-1, McDavid Extends Point Streak to 11 Games

Edmonton Oilers goalie Calvin Pickard records 41 saves in the win

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Edmonton Oilers continued their winning ways on Sunday with a 6-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins at Rogers Place. The Oilers have now won four straight games and are 5-1-0 in their last six.

Zach Hyman led the way for the Oilers with two goals, while Connor McDavid extended his point streak to 11 games with a goal and an assist. Leon Draisaitl also had a goal and two assists, and Darnell Nurse and Mattias Ekholm each had two assists.

Calvin Pickard was solid in goal for the Oilers, stopping 41 of 42 shots. Tristan Jerry made 25 saves for the Penguins.

The Oilers took a 1-0 lead in the first period on a goal by Hyman. McDavid made it 2-0 in the second period with a power-play goal, and Hyman added his second of the game to make it 3-0.

The Penguins got on the board in the third period on a goal by Bryan Rust, but the Oilers answered back with three more goals to put the game away.

The Oilers will be back in action on Tuesday night when they host the Anaheim Ducks.
